Candida Diarrhea Infection

This fungal related complex manifests itself primarily in five (5) areas of the body.

The Digestive System- where symptoms include bloating, gas, cramps, alternating candida diarrhea with constipation, and allergies to food (the person may even feel allergic to almost all foods).

The Nervous System- where symptoms include abnormal fatigue, anxiety, mood swings, drowsiness, memory loss, depression, insomnia and mental fogginess. In extreme cases, hallucinations and violent behaviour can occur. Autism, hyperactivity and learning disabilities in children are other manifestations.

The Skin- where symptoms include hives, psoriasis, eczema, excessive sweating, acne, and nail infections.

The Genito-Urinary Tract- in men, common symptoms include chronic rectal or anal itching, and recurrent prostatitis. In women, common symptoms include PMS (depression, mood swings, bloating, fluid retention, cramps, craving for sweets, headaches prior to menstruation), candida diarrhea and recurrent bladder.

The Endocrine System- an intimate relationship exits in the body between the immune system, the nervous system and the endocrine system (glandular system- adrenal glands, pancreas, parathyroid, pineal gland, pituitary gland, male and female sex glands, thymus and thyroid gland). The thyroid and adrenal glands in particular may be involved. It is not uncommon to find that victims of both hypo and hyperthyroidism, especially the auto-immune variety, are linked to fungal overgrowth which is at the center of candida diarrhea.

Candida and Men…

Candida and Men…

Most people think of fungal yeast infections or Candida albicans (also known as Thrush and Balanitis) as only a female issue, however, men frequently develop the condition. Candida in men occurs in the groin area; it can cause soreness, itching, and redness of the head of the penis, scrotum, and foreskin. Many times, small white spots on the penis, burning sensations during intercourse, and transient rashes may identify the ailment. Due to the fact that Candida thrives in warm, sweaty, and irritated skin, uncircumcised men are actually more likely to develop Candida. In some cases, the foreskin even swells and cracks due to the yeast allergy. In addition, not only does, the fungal yeast thrive on the high sugar content found in men with diabetes, it can also result as an allergic reaction to perfumes, dyes, soaps, and shower gels.

Plain unscented soaps are highly encouraged for bathing, as are warm sitz baths infused with several drops of Tea Tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia.). On an internal note, drinking pure, unsweetened cranberry juice, diluted with water may keep the urinary tract of the penis clear while the external skin heals. Also, the avoidance of milk, mushrooms, caffeine, sugar and bread is also recommended. Some holistic practitioners suggest the ingestion of raw garlic. One should first seek alternative medical consultation before ingestion, due to the heating nature of garlic and its indigestion-causing properties.

Coconut Oil for Candida is Effective as a Candida Infection Treatment

Description: Known as Sanskrit “the tree which provides all the necessities of life”, the Coconut Palm yields 50-75 coconuts per year and not a part of it goes unused. Coconut water contains sugars, fiber, protein, anti-oxidants and a variety of vitamins and minerals. The sap from cutting the flowers from the tree is used to make a drink called “toddy”. The fibrous husk from the tree, the coir, is used in many things including ropes, mats, brushes and potting soil. If you no longer need a coconut tree, the apical bud of an adult tree can be eaten as “palm-cabbage”, and the “heart of the palm” is a delicacy in gourmet salads. The ‘no longer’ clause due to consuming these will kill the tree. And of course, there is the white meat of the nut that can be eaten directly or used to make coconut milk, coconut cream, and coconut oil of which we will focus today. The active ingredients in Coconut Oil are Caprylic Acid, Capric Acid and Lauric Acid. These medium-chain saturated fatty acids are potent antimicrobial agents. They kill bacteria, viruses and fungi by causing their cell walls to disintegrate.

Benefits: Researchers have increasingly revisited the health benefits of coconut oil. The findings have associated it with many healthful benefits starting with weight loss due to the medium length of the fatty acid chains (aka MCT’s). Though it is considered a saturated fat, coconut oil is a different structure from the notorious saturated animal fats, and even offers benefits not available in the longer chained plant oils. The medium length of the coconut’s fatty acid chain enables rapid breakdown in digestion as well as ease of use when burned for energy. These same MCT’s, along with monoglycerides, are found primarily in coconut oil and breast milk and contribute toward well-being, which includes a role in thyroid health. It has tested well in helping prevent hypothyroidism due to its evasion of rancidity. Studies show that rancidity is harmful to the thyroid as well as many cells throughout the body. (The plant oils used by mainstream food manufacturers have a high propensity toward rancidity and must be processed through hydrogenation into trans-fatty acids.)

Coconut Oil for Candida Benefits

Another benefit of using coconut oil is that it supports the suppression of Candida (aka, yeast) in the digestive system. There are actually three items at your supermarket that provide these benefits for fighting yeast problems.  While yeast commonly inhabits your digestive system, it is kept controlled due to the body’s presence of probiotics (aka “good” bacteria). In the event the person starts taking antibiotics, prescription medications, birth control pills or maintains a poor diet and experiences daily stress, Candida yeast begins to fiercely outnumber the good bacteria, causing evidence of infection. Also, digestive disorders such as Crohn’s disease and IBS can have positive results from one consuming coconut oil. The MCTs will not only be easily digested, but will also assist in the absorption of the nutrients from other foods.

Blurb: While time may be limited on the amount of pampering a mother can do for herself, there are steps that can be taken to look our best and coconut oil is here to help. Coconut oil is used for treating damaged hair, dry scalp and pimples, moisturizing dry and aging skin, and enabling anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral effects throughout the body. It has also shown great reduction of keratosis polaris, rosacea and psoriasis. You do not have to pay absorbent fees for beauty products. Instead, buy a large jar of the solid oil and use it directly on the appropriate area as well as ingesting it for overall well being…it tastes great and goes down smooth!

Oral Thrush

Oral Thrush

A white, coated tongue is a sign and symptom of what doctors call Oral ThrushOral Thrush is an overgrowth of a yeast (fungus) called “candida.” Candida is normally found on the skin, in the stomach, colon, vagina, rectum, mouth, and throat. Candida causes health problems only when there is an overgrowth in one of these areas of the body. The medical name for oral thrush is candidiasis.

Oral thrush is a disorder caused by an infection of the mouth with the fungus (yeast) Candida albicans. Thrush is an infection that develops in the mouth and throat and on the tongue. Thrush occurs when a fungus called candida albicans grows out of control. Candida normally is present in small amounts in the mouth and on other mucous membranes. However, under certain circumstances, candida can grow rapidly, causing thrush. Oral Thrush is also called oropharyngeal candidiasis, or OPC.

Oral Thrush – White Patches

Oral Thrush looks like white patches of cottage cheese or milk curds on the tongue or other surfaces in the mouth. In infants, thrush is often mistaken for milk or formula. The patches adhere to the tongue and mouth and cannot be easily wiped away. However, with scraping or rubbing (during brushing, for example), the patches may come off. The tissue around and under the white patches may be red and raw-looking and may bleed. If oral thrush becomes severe, it can extend into the throat, causing pain and difficulty swallowing.

Do you have thrush? Try this fast and FREE Saliva Test! for oral thrush.
When you awake in the morning, before you put ANYTHING into your mouth, work up some saliva and spit it into a clear glass of water. Within 1-30 minutes, look in the glass. If there are strings coming down from your saliva, or if the water turned cloudy, or if your saliva sank to the bottom, you may have a Candida concern that you should act upon for better overall health and relief from Oral Thrush.
